Born
in Braxton County, West Virginia, Pete Hart moved with his family
to the Guysvile,
Ohio area with his family at a young age. He and his wife Linda
still live on a piece of property from the old home place. After
first learning guitar he then took up the mandolin after his
brother,
(the late Sam Hart, who also played guitar), came home from the
military. Major influences were Bill Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs,
Red Allen and others. In 1983 Pete built his first mandolin under
the guidance of luthier Bob White. He calls his mandolins "
The Buckeye" and is proud of the fact that they are
highly regarded and played by several well
known professionals.
