Rick
Westerman is a man of many hats. In addition to playing bass,
he covers the tenor and high lead vocals for
the
band. From a musical family, his Grandfather played fiddle and
his Father played guitar. In the early 70's they played mostly
square
dances and eventually formed a group called the Tri County Travelers.
His brother Chuck was playing fiddle for The Hart Brothers when
their bass player decided to move on and Rick was asked
to join the band. As Rick says, " I can't believe it's been
twenty years, it's been fun and I'm fortunate to be with a group
of good guys." Rick's influences were Bill Monroe, Flatt and
Scruggs, The Stanley Brothers, The Osborne Brothers, (especially
Bobby's high lead singing), and the original Country Gentlemen
just to name a few. Rick and his wife Becki, (who incidently has
written
several of The Hart Brothers' most requested songs), reside in
the Marietta, Ohio area.
